This Saturday workshop will navigate the theme of Metabolism within the wider context of food sovereignty explored in the exhibition Slow Boil. From the Greek metabolē (μεταβολή), meaning change or to change, this chosen thematic is a counter to traditional notions of ecology, in which we will explore the metabolic relations between people, place (specifically soil) and plants, excavating how each of these elements interact, impact and operate independently of one another.

Following a lunch at 1pm at Artspace Aotearoa, Chef Bruno Anso (Boil Up Crew) and Artist/Researcher Blaine Western (Slow Boil) will host a workshop to explore these themes and overlaps between one another's interests and contributions to the exhibition.

Depending upon the weather this Saturday, the workshop will be concluded with a brief tour of nearby sites to ground what is explored in the workshops in our immediate surroundings.
